In our attempt to be a progressive agency and keep costs down for our models we have chosen to use iPads or Tablet as the method of choice to present your books. This keeps printing costs down and enables us to have several books available for individual clients and the ability to update your books with new images and even videos as we receive them.
You have the option to purchase the iPad by simply contacting the UU Accounting Department email@example.com. They are previously owned and the price ranges depending on price we paid for it. The price ranges from $165 to $225.
You are responsible for the iPad issued to you. The cost to repair or replace an iPad will be added to your account. iPads must be returned to the agency prior to you leaving the NY market. Please deliver it to someone at the agency. They will confirm receipt of the iPad and it's current unlocking password in an email to you and firstname.lastname@example.org. Please be sure you receive this email before leaving the agency. If the iPad is damaged or non functioning upon returning it the repair or replacement costs will be added to your agency accounting.
Unlock the iPad with the PW given to you. If you or they do not have one please request one by emailing accounts@unite-unite. Include the serial number from the back panel or the name of the previous model who used it.
From the home page select the Settings app
3. Select "GENERAL"
4.. Scroll down to the bottom until you see Reset.
5. Select "Reset All Content and Settings"
5. Now you will have to enter your Apple ID password. ...This should have been given to you with the unlocking PW. If you need it please request from email@example.com
6. The reset process can take a minute or two, after which you'll see the "Hello" screen asking you to swipe to continue.
Initializing an iPad
Start the Process. The first step to setting up the iPad is to swipe from left to right across the bottom of the screen. This tells the iPad you are ready to use it and is the same action required any time you want to use the iPad.
Choose Language. You need to tell the iPad how to communicate with you. English is the default setting, but most common languages are supported.
Choose Country or Region. The iPad needs to know the Country you are located in to connect to the correct version of the Apple App Store. Not all apps are available in all countries.
Choose a Wi-Fi Network. This is where you will need that Wi-Fi password If you are at the agency ask someone for the WIFI PW.
Enable Location Services. The location services allow the iPad to determine where it is located. Even an iPad without 4G and GPS can use location services by utilizing nearby Wi-Fi networks to determine the location. Most people will want to turn this setting on. You can turn off location services later, and even choose which apps you allow to use them and which apps can't use them.
Set up as New or Restore From Backup (iTunes or iCloud). You will be setting it up as NEW. Later, if you run into problems that require you to fully restore the iPad, you will have the choice of using iTunes to restore your backup or using Apple's iCloud service. For your first time setting it up just simply choose "Set Up as New iPad".
Enter the Apple ID created just for you. It should be a version of your first firstname.lastname@example.org THE PW will be sent to you. Please keep the PW in a safe place incase you need it again. If you ever forget it contact email@example.com DO NOT select "create new Apple ID". UNLESS YOU HAVE CHOSEN TO PURCHASE THE IPAD. If you have purchased the UU iPad feel free to use your personal Apple ID or crate a new one.
IF YOU WISH TO PURCHASE THE UU iPAD
To purchase the iPad please let UU accounting department know by clicking on this email firstname.lastname@example.org. Tell them that you wish to purchase your ipad. They will confirm with you the price. You will have to agree to the cost in a reply email. The purchase will be advanced to you and added to your account.
Agree to Terms and Conditions. You will need to agree to the Terms and Conditions, and once you agree, the iPad will give you a dialog box confirming that you agree. You can also have the Terms and Conditions emailed to you by touching the button at the top of the screen.
Set Up iCloud. Most people will want to set up iCloud and enable the iPad to be backed up to iPad on a daily basis. This means even if you run into major problems with your iPad, you lose it or it is stolen, your data will be backed up to the Internet and waiting for you when your restore your iPad. However, if you aren't comfortable saving your information to the Internet, or if you are using the iPad for business purposes and your place of work doesn't allow you to use cloud storage, you can decline to use iCloud.
You Must Activate Find My iPad. This is a very handy feature that can both help you find a lost iPad or recover a stolen iPad. Turning on this feature will let you track the general location of the iPad. The 4G version of the iPad, which has a GPS chip, will be more accurate, but even the Wi-Fi version can provide amazing accuracy.
iMessage and Face-time. You can choose to have people contact you via the email address used with your Apple ID. This allows you to take FaceTime calls, which is video conferencing software similar to Skype, or receive iMessage texts, which is a platform that lets you send and receive messages to friends and family that use either an iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch or Mac If you already have an iPhone, you may see your phone number listed here, along with any other phone numbers and email addresses associated with your Apple ID.. Create a Passcode. Please make your unlock pass code UU17
Siri. If you have an iPad that supports Siri, you will be prompted whether or not you want to use it. There's really no reason not to use Siri. As Apple's voice recognition system, Siri can perform a lot of great tasks, such as setting up reminders or searching for the nearest pizza place.
Diagnostics. The last choice is whether or not to send a daily diagnostic report to Apple. Choose not to participate.
Get Started. The last step is to click on the "Get Started" link on the "Welcome to iPad" page. This finalizes setting up the iPad for use.
